WealthTV Begins Fourth Year Launched 24/7 in High Definition

WealthTV Celebrates Start of Fourth Year with 100 Linear Distribution Partners

SAN DIEGO, CA – June 1, 2007 – WealthTV, the premier luxury lifestyle and entertainment network in high definition, is opening champagne today as it celebrates the start of its fourth year as a 24/7 launched national cable channel in high definition.  To date, WealthTV has gained over 100 linear distribution partners since its initial launch in HD on June 1, 2004, making WealthTV one of the oldest launched HD channels.    

Unlike many independent networks that start out with repurposed programming and no internal content production capabilities, WealthTV took a different path.  Prior to its launch, WealthTV purchased a 40,000 sq. ft. facility in San Diego and, with the help of Sony, Motorola, and Ascent Media, built its own state-of-the-art all high definition production studios.  WealthTV has master control, uplink, and full content capabilities from the initial creative to a completed show all on site.  All programming seen on the channel is original. 

WealthTV’s production crews have been very busy.  Crews are just returning from the Michael Jackson auction at the Hard Rock in Las Vegas for WealthTV’s The Collection series.  WealthTV’s host Ann Franken spent a few days with NASCAR driver Kyle Busch for WealthTV’s Wealth Profiles and producer Terry Wilson spent some time at Sun Records and the Gibson Guitar factory for WealthTV’s destination series WOW!.  Since early 2004, WealthTV’s crews and independent production companies working for the network have amassed on of the largest high definition libraries of any network.

WealthTV’s product offering is not limited to its 24/7 high definition feed.  It also offers a digital feed, short format content for broadband, and standard digital video on demand, VOD, and high definition VOD.  WealthTV made its HD VOD content available to the cable industry back in April of 2006.  In March of this year, Time Warner launched WealthTV’s HD VOD services in San Antonio, Texas.
