WealthTV'S SPORTS LINE UP KICKS OFF WITH THE OFFSHORE SUPER SERIES IN HIGH DEFINITION
San Diego, CA, April 19, 2004 – Herring Broadcasting, Inc., the parent company of WealthTV, announces the signing of the Richard Mann Group (RMG1) to bring the Offshore Super Series (OSS) to the High Definition (HD) platform. The OSS is a North American circuit for offshore powerboat racing.
"The OSS is an extremely thrilling event. We’ll deliver this experience to our viewers in a way that gives them a front-row view of the action." said Chris Moore, WealthTV’s Director of Program Acquisitions. “This partnership represents our commitment to a variety of sports programming. Polo, competitive sailing and other offshore racing events are just a few.”
RMG1 president and founder Richard Mann has more than two decades of hands-on production experience in motion picture and television productions. Mann has produced 26 hours of offshore powerboat racing for network television. However, this will be the first time that the series is produced in HD. WealthTV will be the only network showing the series in this format.
RMG1 will produce the entire OSS race series for WealthTV. Mann says that the powerboat series will provide something spectacular in the HD format. "Viewers at home will be holding on to their seats while watching these boats scream by at 130 miles per hour in true High Definition," Mann said. "The experience will be the next best thing to sitting in the drivers seat."
Kicking off in Biloxi, Mississippi on April 22, the OSS has some of the fastest offshore powerboats in the world going against each other. The event features speed, high flying and powerful race boats competing against backdrops including the Mississippi Sound.
